The Theme
The profound concept we want to convey is that beauty, in all its forms, can be a motivating and inspiring force for building a better society. This idea has been deeply rooted in the Christian tradition, where it has always played a central role in evangelization and the expression of faith through art.
Making use of the meaning of the word "door", the exhibition's motto underlines the fact that beauty is the bearer of Hope because it instills in human beings noble and personal responses.
The reference is also to the "Door" of the Jubilee Year which is celebrated at the same period in Rome and which is a sign of the Holy Year. In this way we want to underline the fact that to reach the virtue of Hope it is necessary to pass through the "door" of beauty which is a fundamental component of dialogue and unity among peoples.
Since its origins, Christianity has found in beauty a powerful means to communicate spiritual values and the deep truths of the faith. Over the centuries, art has become the primary vehicle through which the Church has expressed and represented its understanding of life.
The “Via Pulchritudinis”, or the Way of Beauty, offers a tangible way to convey the message of faith through aesthetics and art.
It plays a fundamental role in inspiring hope in people, inspiring them to create a future of renewal that starts from the present. It is through beauty that people can find common ground to explore and share their deepest aspirations, thus contributing to the building of a better society.
